Your search for a premium, sporty sedan may naturally lead you to exciting options like the 2022 Acura TLX and the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It is easy to assume that these four-door luxury cars would have comparable capabilities and features, but further investigation reveals significant differences that may play a role in your model selection. What will you discover when you review the 2022 TLX and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in detail?

Performance

The differences between the TLC and the C-Class begin behind the wheel. Most of the TLX’s trim levels pull 272 horsepower from a four-cylinder, turbo 2.0-liter engine. This system includes a 10-speed automatic transmission as well as your choice of front-wheel or super-handling all-wheel drive. The top TLX trim receives 355 horsepower from a V6 turbo 3.0-liter engine. It is offered exclusively with super-handling all-wheel drive. One powertrain is offered with the 2022 C-Class. It has a mild-hybrid, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder system that generates 255 horsepower. The C-Class’s engine can produce short bursts of additional power for up to 275 horsepower. A nine-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drivetrain are standard.

Appearance

In 2021, the Acura TLX benefited from a significant exterior refresh. Crisp accents from the front define the athletic styling of the TLX to the rear. Its style begins with a smoothly-defined hood as well as a tapered hood. The nose shows a pentagon grille, aggressive lower-air vents, and premium LED headlights. The smooth sides are enhanced with defined rear haunches. The C-Class for 2022 has a curvy profile with a shorter hood. A large, two-bar grille sits on the nose. It is flanked by diamond-like headlamps topped with an LED light bar. The raked roofline creates a swooping look and detracts from the interior space in the cabin. Accentuation on the side doors slants inward to create a convergent look.

Features

You will be impressed with the great selection of features offered in the TLX. Some of these are AcuraLink, a 10.2-inch infotainment system screen, parking sensors, a navigation system, smart device integration, leather material, a 17-speaker premium audio system, a wireless charging pad, a surround-view camera, a 10.5-inch heads-up display, front and rear heated seats, LED puddle lights and remote engine start. Some of the C-Class features are smart device integration, an MBUX infotainment system, and a touch display screen. Optional features include a wireless charging pad, a navigation system, and a surround-view camera.
