2022 Acura RDX vs 2022 Acura MDX

Serving Memphis, TN

Are you trying to decide which of Acura’s premium crossover SUV models is right for you? The RDX holds great appeal for many drivers in the Memphis area. It is a small crossover that debuted its current generation in 2019, showing off many new features for the 2022 model year. The midsize MDX crossover sits above the RDX in the lineup, and its fourth-generation debuts this year. Our sales associates at Acura of Memphis are thrilled to tell you more about these incredible options.

Performance

You will notice differences between the 2022 RDX and the 2022 MDX as soon as you take them out for a spin. The RDX is offered with one engine. This is a 272-horsepower, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. The engine is combined with a 10-speed auto transmission. Most trims have front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is standard in the Advance and PMC Edition. The MDX, on the other hand, has two powertrain possibilities. Most trims have a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 system paired with a 10-speed auto transmission. The alternative offered in higher trim levels is a 350-horsepower, turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine. This high-performance system comes with Brembo front brakes and a sport-tuned, adaptive air suspension system. Like the RDX, most of the MDX’s trims have front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is only standard in the top MDX trims.

Appearance

The 2022 Acura RDX and MDX have a few striking similarities, such as LED-underscored headlights and a pentagon-shaped grille. However, the RDX is a smaller model with an aerodynamic profile and smaller headlights. You will find angled definition on the sides with thick, prominent molding angled through the panels. The MDX is the larger of the two models with a tall, arched roofline and thinner, longer headlights. Its hood is beautifully defined. The molding has a pinstripe design on the sides, and it is accompanied by lower-body molding for additional differentiation.

Features

The RDX is a two-row model, while the MDX has three rows of seating. Because of the MDX’s configuration, it has extra features like a three-zone climate management system, more USB ports, and sliding and reclining seats in the second row. These Acura SUVs have a sunroof, leather material, heated front seats, a wireless hotspot, a premium sound system, and advanced safety features at various trim levels.
