2020 Acura RDX vs 2019 Acura RDX
Serving Memphis, TN
The RDX was a new release from Acura in 2019, which means it doesn’t make many changes for the 2020 model year. Nevertheless, the RDX holds plenty of appeal and continues to be one of the top-rated luxury SUVs on the market. The RDX, which ranks #3 among small luxury SUVs, features a spacious cabin and plenty of space in its cargo area. The RDX also makes daily driving safer and high-performance maneuvers, such as cornering, easier, and more enjoyable.
Performance is a strong suit of the Acura RDX, regardless of whether you choose the 2020 or 2019 model year. Both vehicles have the same engine and drivetrain configuration. Both model years of the RDX enjoy a responsive ride and quick acceleration from a turbocharged 2.0L engine with four cylinders. This engine runs on regular gasoline. At most, it produces 272 HP and delivers a commendable 280 LB-FT of torque when needed. A 10-speed automatic transmission, which also comes with manually operated shift paddles, adds a bit of fun to your RDX driving experience. Furthermore, the RDX gets four different driving modes to provide the right traction and response. The RDX is equipped with Acura’s all-wheel-drive system that provides extra traction when needed.
The 2020 and 2019 Acura RDX have an identical appearance that is equally dazzling and contemporary. A sleek and sculpted body shape gives the RDX a modern and aerodynamic appearance for both model years. While many SUVs get LED lights, the RDX has unique jeweled lights that simultaneously give its front end a more glamorous appearance while enhancing its visibility. A diamond-patterned front grille further accentuates the front end for dynamic flair. In the back, the RDX features dragon-style tail lights that give it an all-around innovative exterior. An A-Spec package is available to give the RDX a sportier look. This package includes sporty bumpers, larger 20-inch wheels, and oversize exhaust finishers.
Inside, the Acura RDX has plenty to enjoy as well. The base trims in both the 2020 and the 2019 model years have virtually the same standard features. You can add on packages to enhance both, too. At a minimum, you’ll get a larger infotainment display screen than most competitors offer with the RDX, which comes standard at the entry-level with a 10.2-inch display screen that supports smartphone integration and Apple CarPlay. By adding on the optional technology package, you will also get leather seats, a more powerful 12-speaker sound system, and navigation with the infotainment center. A 3-D sound system is available through the A-Spec package. The Advance package, which is available for all trims, provides the RDX with even more bells and whistles. This package creates a quieter cabin with sound-dampening materials, and its thicker carpets add a more plush feel underfoot. There is also a hands-free liftgate offered with this package. Available safety features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a panoramic backup camera.
